Maker Webpage : Candiru. A few general specifications :

This one :

A few minor issues with fit/finish :

Stock cutting

The initial sharpness was measured at :

The edge will shave a little, but you would want to wet shave even on the arm . It slices newsprint, not a clear push even on an angle . In short, the edge is fairly aggressive on the slice, it was likely sharpened with a low grit and then had a very light buffing, it was not rounded over and likely not over heated (ESEE wet grinds).

On 3/8" hemp :

On carving wood compared to the #1260 Mora on some 1" hardwood dowel with light force (10-30 lbs) :

The relatively low performance here is beyond what would be expected due to the edge angle comparison (15 vs 10 dps) but also :

The large difference can also be seen just on the size of the curls/shavings of wood produced.

On some 1x0.5" pine making 2" points with heavy force (50-70 lbs) :

The difference is even larger here because of the inability to transfer the full force into the cutting edge due to the partial grip length.
