Ray Kirk's entry in the sharpening contest

Ray sharpened both blades on a 60 micron worn alumina oxide micro finishing belt and then buffed with tan compound on 3600 prm then with white compound on losse buff at 1725 RPM. finished on the 3000 grit tape. Total time was 12 minutes per blade.

The second blade was near idential in performance to the one reported in the main contest webpage. The thread score was 99.4 (3.2). Both blades had little aggression on a slice, a full pass along the blade length just scored the cottong.

Both blades could whittle hair easily, but not catch hair above the skin, slice newsprint trivially, push cut newprint well, slice the paper towel, but not make a push cut and no cuts could be made on toilet paper.
