The skinning knife is made from a M2 power hacksaw blade fully hardened to 64/65 HRC. The stock is 0.058" thick and 0.975" wide at maximum with a 0.495" high convex grind. The blade is 4.6" long with a 0.1" choil and weighs 85 g. The is 0.002-0.003" thick, ground at 4.3 +/- 0.1 degrees per side. At 0.25" back from the edge the knife is 0.035" thick. There is a distal taper to point 0.5" long.

Stock testing : main

The initial sharpness is very high, it would shaves very well, push backwards against hair and push cut newsprint about one inch from the holding point. It push cut thread with 87 (7) grams and cut 1/4" poly with a 500 gram load in 0.94 (2) centimeters of edge.

With the origional edge profile and sharpness the skinner push cut 3/8" hemp with 11.0 (5) lbs and made a slice with 4.5 (3) lbs showing high aggression.
