The Calypso Jr. had extreme initial sharpness, it shaved very smoothly and would push cut newsprint effortlessly. On thread it took 78 (10) grams to make a cut and 0.80 (19) centimeters to cut light cotton under a 100 gram load, on a 200 gram load the blade cut through the cotton instantly.

With the origional edge profile and new in box sharpness, the M16 cut 3/8 inch hemp with 7.0 (5) and 12.0 (5) lbs on a slice through two inches of blade and a push cut respectively..

The Calypso Jr. has a full distal taper of the tip, and on a 50 lbs push it sinks to a depth of 290 (15) pages.
